Tribute to Married Love was created by sculptor Oscar Nemon and commissioned by Miller Nichols. The statue was originally installed with ornate benches and an audio component that played recordings of Winston Churchill’s “Iron Curtain” speech, delivered in Fulton, Missouri on March 5, 1946.

In 2026, the Wornall Bridge underwent a renovation project that included work to care for the statue, restore the benches, and create a new digital way to experience the history of the monument and Churchill’s 1946 address in Missouri.
