The Plaza District continues to evolve. With the arrival of the KC Streetcar extension, expanding investment in the Country Club Plaza, and growing momentum around the future of Kansas City’s Cultural District, we continue to celebrate this pivotal moment for the district. On Tuesday, October 27, 2026 the Plaza District Council will host its annual Evolving Vision event at Fire House KC, bringing together civic, business, neighborhood, institutional, and community leaders for a conversation about the vision and future of the Plaza District.

This year’s core theme is Brush Creek, one of Kansas City’s most visible and under-realized civic assets. Too often treated as impressive flood infrastructure with an unmanageable trash problem, Brush Creek has the potential to become something much more meaningful: a connected greenway that bridges east and west, reconnects neighborhoods, and strengthens Kansas City as a whole.

Evolving Vision: Brush Creek will explore what Brush Creek is today, what it can become, and what it will take to move from fragmented interest to coordinated action. Join PDC for an evening of vision, momentum, and conversation around the next chapter of Brush Creek.
